The Ole Miss Rebels have landed another proven SEC veteran from the NCAA Transfer Portal, this time from their in-state rival. Former Mississippi State Bulldogs cornerback Decamerion Richardson revealed via social media on Monday afternoon that he will be spending his final year of eligibility wearing Ole Miss red and blue.

"Only thing on a mind of a shark is eat, by any means! Committed," -- Richardson via X (formerly known as Twitter).

This is Ole Miss' tenth portal commit of the 2024 cycle and its fifth pledge from a defensive back. Before choosing Ole Miss, Richardson previously visited both the Oregon Ducks and LSU Tigers will in the portal. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound defensive back is rated as the No. 4 cornerback in the portal and the No. 30 overall player, according to On3

In 33 games with Mississippi State, the senior recorded 177 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and 10 pass breakups. Pro Football Focus granted Richardson a 86.4 rating in 2023, good enough for No. 4 in the SEC at his position. With the Cullen, La., native on board at Ole Miss, the Rebels have now recruited six players on the defensive side of the ball who add proven SEC experience to Pete Golding's personnel.

Richardson joins Illinois cornerback Tahveon Nicholson, Indiana safety Louis Moore, Oklahoma safety Key Lawrence, and Tennessee safety Tamarion McDonald as the newest additions to Golding's secondary.

The Rebels are still on the hunt for the biggest fish on the market, however, as Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen has not announced his commitment following a visit with Ole Miss over the weekend.
