Auburn went 6-7 in 2023 and was a few plays/quarters going a different way from winning a few more football games.

Now, Coach Freeze has brought in a ton of talent in the 2024 recruiting class that will hopefully help the Tigers win more football games next season.

One of those talented players Coach Freeze brought in is five-star receiver Cam Coleman, who was a top ten player in the class according to 247Sports composite rankings. In his recent press conference, Coach Freeze said Coleman was talented and smooth. He said he expects Coleman to play early and that a lot of the young guys had a good first practice. Most everyone assumed Coleman would get on the field early in his Auburn career, but hearing Coach Freeze confirm that is the plan is exciting to hear.

Cooper Petagna of 247Sports had this to say about Coleman in his scouting report of the five-star wideout, "Verified at 6-foot-3 and 180-pounds plus, possesses an athletic frame with growth potential to add an additional fifteen to twenty pounds to his frame on Saturdays. Possesses outstanding verified athletic ability at the receiver position, showing the ability to operate out of the slot and on the perimeter."

Wide receiver was a problem for the Auburn Tigers a year ago, so the hope is that this position group, with all of the young talent, will be a lot better in 2024. Having some receivers who can get separation would help Payton Thorne, assuming he wins the quarterback battle, have options other than Rivaldo Fairweather.
