Jalen Milroe is one of the most imposing and physically gifted quarterbacks in college football but it turns out his true height and weight have been kept from the public.
Alabama has Milroe listed as 6’2″ and weighing 220 pounds on its online roster, but those numbers are outdated according to the quarterback who gave a bit more insight during the SEC players teleconference on Monday.
“No that ain’t accurate,” Milroe said. “I’m much bigger than that. That was like freshman year.”
Even without the completely accurate measurements, Milroe’s size and speed have garnered several comparisons to NFL quarterbacks with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart comparing him to the Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.
“(Milroe) is like when I used to ask my sons on ‘Madden’ — they wanted to play with the Ravens and I’d ask ‘Why are you playing with the Ravens?'”,” Smart said on Monday. “They’d say ‘I’ve got Lamar Jackson, and nobody can tackle him.’ This guy is a bigger, more physical version of that. He is playing in a different speed than anybody else when you can watch.”
When asked about the comparison from Smart, Milroe shared that he takes influence from all quarterbacks at the next level.
“Yeah, I would say I look up to every NFL quarterback in the league because they all had a process to get them to where they’re at,” Milroe said. “I think as any quarterback that’s looking up or that’s inspired to play the game for a long time, you’ve got to look at the guys that’s all starting for NFL teams, so I look up to all those guys because they all had a certain journey to get them to where they’re at, and it takes hard work and takes facing many challenges that was placed in front of them.
“So I look up to every guy that’s in the game. I learn different things from different quarterbacks, to answer, your question, but with that comment, I only can just try to build and continue to be who I am.”
