Former West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels hung up his cleats earlier this winter and began looking for a job in coaching. After a few months of looking around, he landed his first gig as a graduate assistant at University of West Georgia, according to Kelsey Kramer of AtoZ Sports.

Daniels threw for 2,107 yards, 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions in one year at WVU. In his lone season as the starting quarterback at Rice, he led the Owls to their best record since 2015 and completed 181-of-287 pass attempts for 2,443 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in nine games.

Although his one year at West Virginia didn't go as well as everyone had hoped, he made a significant impact in the quarterback room. Daniels played a key part in the development of Garrett Greene and in Nicco Marchiol's transition from high school to college.

Head coach Neal Brown told the media on numerous occasions that whenever Daniels' playing career came to an end that he would have a strong future in coaching.
