LSU QB Jayden Daniels hypes up running ability: 'Sometimes I amaze myself with how I get out of things'

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is about as solid as they come.

Through seven games this season, he's thrown for 2,294 yards and 22 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He's thrown the second-most touchdowns in the country behind only reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams (23). He also currently boasts the highest quarterback rating in college football at 197.74.

He's legit as a quarterback. Heisman-worthy, in fact.

With that said, Daniels feels his biggest X-factor is being able to use his legs to pick up yards.

“I mean it’s hard to explain. I just, when I’m in it and the game is slowing up I see something,” Daniels said on Wednesday (h/t On3). “That’s something I’ve been doing since a young age, be able to use my legs and create explosive plays," Daniels said on "The Paul Finebaum Show."

To Daniels' point, he has rushed for 515 yards and four touchdowns this season, which is better than many running backs across college football.

He's a special talent with the ability to make defenses pay in a dual-threat capacity. So much so that sometimes he even surprises himself.

“Sometimes I amaze myself with how I get out of things,” Daniels said. “Other times I try to, might do a little bit too much and might get away with it. I try to limit that, but sometimes I surprise myself on film with what I can do with my legs.”

Dual-threat quarterbacks were once a rarity, but now the best of the best of them end up in New York and going high in the NFL Draft.

We'll have to wait and see if Daniels' legs take him down those paths in the near future.
