LSU's Harold Perkins has his own 'Flu Game' vs. Arkansas but doesn't know who 'MJ' is

LSU Tigers linebacker Harold Perkins was dominant in Saturday's 13-10 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks.

However, after the game, head coach Brian Kelly said the true freshman had been sick with the flu before the game while revealing that Perkins is maybe unaware of who Michael Jordan is.

"He got sick before the game, threw up as we were going into our team meeting," Kelly said. "I said, 'Hey, MJ threw up when he had his greatest game,' and he said, 'Who's MJ?' I said, 'Man, I'm getting so old.'"

It's unlikely Perkins hasn't heard of Jordan. But, in all fairness, Perkins was born a year after Jordan retired for the third time with the Washington Wizards.

Nevertheless, Perkins and Jordan now have something in common, sort of. The fact that Perkins was feeling under the weather makes his performance on Saturday even more herculean.

Perkins finished with eight tackles and two forced fumbles while tying the LSU school record for sacks in a game with four. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Perkins is the first Power 5 player since Chase Young of Ohio State in 2019 to record four sacks and two forced fumbles in a game.

The 18-year-old won the game for the Tigers, strip-sacking Razorbacks quarterback Cade Fortin with 1:19 left in the fourth quarter.
