Nick Saban won't commit to firm timetable for Alabama QB Bryce Young's return
The Alabama Crimson Tide lost Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young to a shoulder injury during last weekend's 49-26 win over No. 20 Arkansas this past weekend.
The Crimson Tide, of course, still prevailed much in thanks to Young's backup, freshman Jalen Milroe, who threw for a touchdown and rushed for another, but it has got to be concerning to Alabama's College Football Playoff hopes to lose last season's Heisman winner, though, right?
Actually, according to head coach Nick Saban, Young's injury is not all that big of a deal.
"He's got a little bit of a shoulder injury. It's not a long-term type of injury," Saban told the media on Monday. "He's going to be day-to-day. When he can get back to throwing, we'll just have to evaluate day-to-day. I can't tell you if that's going to be today, tomorrow, or the next day."
That's such a typical Saban answer. Much like his NFL equal, Bill Belichick, Alabama's head coach is not a fan of giving his opponents any type of advantage.
Speaking of, the Crimson Tide is now ranked No. 1 in the nation with Texas A&M up next on the schedule.
The Aggies may be hoping for Young to stay out of this contest, but they're in a situation where they'll be "damned if they do and damned if they don't" regarding the Crimson Tide's quarterback situation.
Though he's not yet a Heisman winner, Milroe is the former No. 13 overall quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class.
