The Ohio State Buckeyes have been on a recruiting hot streak. Not only have they landed some of the top recruits from the transfer portal, but the future is also looking bright. Specifically, the 2025 class is shaping up to be a historic one. A week after landing a top cornerback in the class, No. 5 overall recruit Na’eem Offord announced his commitment to the program.

Ohio State Lands CB Na’eem Offord

Offord visited Columbus this weekend and apparently liked what he saw. It didn’t take long for him to give a verbal commitment. He joins Devin Sanchez, who is the second-ranked corner in the class. Overall, the Buckeyes have six players in the top 85 in the 2025 cycle, and it is only February. Five of those six have committed in the last month. Ryan Day has been taking some heat, but it is hard to argue with his recruiting efforts.

Pressure To Win

The program is in good hands in the future. However, in the short term, there is pressure to win now. The Buckeyes have lost to Michigan three straight years. Despite having a glut of talent on the roster, they have not been able to beat the best teams when it matters most. Now that Jim Harbaugh is gone, the pressure only increases. If Ohio State cannot win this year, Day could find himself on the hot seat.

Can the Buckeyes take the Big Ten in 2024? They have the talent but will need to figure out how to turn that into wins on the field.
