Ohio State lands heralded four-star quarterback

On Saturday, one of the nation's most sought-after high school quarterbacks, Prentiss "Air" Noland, revealed he'll play his collegiate football for the Ohio State University.

A four-star recruit, Noland announced his decision via the 247 Sports YouTube page.

A star at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, Noland garnered attention from several elite programs. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal-caller received 32 official offers from schools. Noland narrowed his finalists to Alabama, Clemson, Arkansas, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M before committing to Ohio State.

Noland joins several recent high-profile commitments for the Buckeyes, including five-star wideout Mylan Graham and four-star running back James Peoples.

Ranked 11th in the 247 Sports Composite quarterback rankings in February, Noland has risen to No. 8 heading into the summer.

Noland is coming off a remarkable junior campaign leading Langston Hughes High to a 15-0 record and a Georgia Class 6A state title.

In 2022, the left-hander completed 73 percent of his passes, throwing for 4,095 yards with 55 touchdowns, finishing one shy of the Georgia state record. He was named the Georgia 6A Player of the Year, earning first-team all-state and all-region honors.

Known better as "Air," Noland had the nickname passed down from his father, who resembled Michael Jordan in his younger days. Noland said the moniker is on his birth certificate, adding, "I love my name."
