DJ Uiagalelei Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

DJ Uiagalelei played for Oregon State this season after transferring from Clemson, and there is a chance the quarterback could return to the ACC in 2024.

Uiagalelei announced last week that he has entered the transfer portal. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Tuesday that Florida State and Louisville are currently considered the “top suitors” for Uiagalelei.

Mississippi State is also in the mix, according to Thamel.

Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State after playing three seasons at Clemson. He was a highly touted recruit but didn’t develop as the Tigers had hoped, so he left for Corvallis.

Uiagalelei passed for 2,638 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. He also rushed for six touchdowns for the Beavers, who followed up a 10-3 season in 2022 by going 8-4 this year.

Oregon State and Washington State have been left behind as the only two schools remaining in the Pac-12 after the conference imploded, which is likely one reason Uiagalelei is looking to transfer. Another reason could be that Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith has taken the Michigan State job.

Uiagalelei has one year of college eligibility remaining. He is also considering entering the NFL Draft, but it seems more likely that he will stay in school for another season.
