In another silly-season shakeup, Justin Haley, driver of the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford, and Corey LaJoie, driver of the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, are swapping rides.
Spire and Rick Ware Racing announce a trade of sorts as Justin Haley will head to Spire starting next week and drive the No. 7. Corey LaJoie will head to RWR starting next week and drive the No. 51. Update: Haley will drive for Spire in 2025; still TBD if LaJoie for RWR.

Starting next week at Kansas Speedway, Haley will move to the Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chevrolet while LaJoie will drive the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford.
At a joint news conference Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway, Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson confirmed Haley will drive for the team in 2025. However, it is not yet known if LaJoie will drive for Rick Ware Racing beyond the 2024 season. RWR president Robby Benton said the team would make any decisions for 2025 after the conclusion of this season.
For the 25-year-old Haley, this will mark a return to Spire Motorsports, the organization for which he drove when he earned his first and only Cup Series victory, a rain-shortened Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway in 2019.
Shortly after the news became official, it was announced that Haley will be paired with veteran crew chief Rodney Childers starting next season.
Childers guided Cup Series Champion Kevin Harvick to a title in 2014 and has been atop the box for Cup Series rookie Josh Berry this season. Earlier this season, he signed a multiyear deal with Spire Motorsports.
The 32-year-old LaJoie has driven for multiple teams during his Cup Series career. A third-generation racer, he has 263 career Cup Series starts, achieving a best finish of fourth three times.
The news came as the organization gets set for the Round of 16 elimination race in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs on Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Bass Pro Shops Night Race will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be carried by USA Network, the NBC Sports app, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
