Report: Large number of LSU football players placed in quarantine

A large number of LSU football players have reportedly been placed in quarantine as an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, according to ESPN's Alex Scarborough.

30 or more players are reportedly in quarantine and not all of them have tested positive for the coronavirus, Scarborough adds. The move comes after the school began voluntary workouts on June 9.

State health officials confirmed an outbreak of at least 100 coronavirus cases that could be traced back to bars near the LSU campus. LSU football players aren't the only ones being forced to quarantine, though.

Many Clemson players have tested positive for the virus and players at Ohio state are being asked to sign coronavirus risk waiver forms before they return to campus.

Ohio State isn't the only school or business to use COVID-19 waivers as they reopen operation following a lengthy shutdown. In fact, it seems that these waivers could become standard across all college football programs in the coming weeks and months.

To this point, there's been no word on whether or not the college football season will officially begin on time. However, many players stated they were okay with practicing and playing games without a coronavirus vaccine in an anonymous ESPN poll.
