On Tuesday evening, it was reported that the Tennessee Vols are receiving a visit on April 21 from Oregon State running back Damien Martinez.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, that visit is no longer happening.

Fawcett reported on Wednesday morning that Martinez is no longer planning to visit Tennessee.

The Vols are potentially interested in adding a running back from the transfer portal due to the program's lack of depth at the position after losing Jaylen Wright and Jabari Small to the 2024 NFL Draft.

Beyond starter Dylan Sampson, the Vols don't have much experience at running back. Additionally, Cam Seldon, a sophomore who was expected to serve as the No. 2 running back this fall, suffered an injury during spring practice that could linger into the fall.

It appears Tennessee is at least toying with the idea of adding a running back from the transfer portal (if they find someone who fits their culture), but there's no guarantee that the Vols will add a running back before the start of the 2024 season.
