The Gophers football team has seen five players depart through the spring transfer portal in the past several days.

Defensive lineman Trey Bixby along with cornerback Tariq Watson, wide receiver Cade Osterman and offensive tackles De'Eric Mister and Cade McConnell are the five players to announce their departures.

Bixby was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of Eden Prairie in 2022 but had to medically retire from football in 2023. He posted on his personal Twitter that he is "Happy, healthy, in the best shape of my life" and "looking for my next home."

The offensive tackle duo of Mister and McConnell never suited up for the Gophers.

Watson played in all 13 games of the 2013 season, finishing with 10 total tackles.

Osterman was the 2022 Minnesota Mr. Football as a quarterback and linebacker at Elk River High School. He joined the Gophers as a preferred walk-on but never appeared in a game for Minnesota.
