On October 14th, 2017 the Louisville Cardinals hosted the Boston College Eagles and battled toe-to-toe in a 45-42 shootout win for the Eagles. Heisman trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson and BC freshman running back AJ Dillon each put up monstrous stats in the game. Jackson had 515 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns including the 41-yard touchdown run that tied the game at 42 with just over 5 minutes remaining. Dillon ran for 272 yards on 39 carries with 4 scores and set up the game winning field goal by Colton Lichtenberg as time expired.
