Clemson vs. South Carolina: The No. 24 Clemson Tigers won a tough, defensive battle against rival South Carolina, 23-7. The Tigers' defense got things started with a bang as freshman defensive back Khalil Barnes opened the game with a huge fumble returned for a touchdown to give Clemson an early 7-0 lead. Then, on the very next offensive play from scrimmage, Spencer Rattler threw into traffic and Barnes picked him off. Will Shipley and Phil Mafah combioned for 169 rushing yards while Cade Klubnik amassed 152 total yards in the win. Clemson kicker Jonathon Weitz was perfect on the day, making long kicks from 50 yards, 49 yards and 42 yards. The Clemson defense was stout, holding the Gamecocks to 169 total yards and Rattler to 112 yards passing in the loss.
