Watch: Georgia QB Stetson Bennett gets standing ovation after leaving national championship game
It's incredible to think about Stetson Bennett's Georgia career. It started with Bennett walking on at UGA in 2017 as a two-star recruit before transferring to Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi for the 2019 season.
It ended with Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart calling a timeout in the fourth quarter of a blowout national championship game so his senior quarterback could receive a standing ovation from Georgia fans ready to celebrate a second-straight title win.
A second-straight national championship win that Bennett orchestrated, mind you.
What a moment:
Bennett completed 18-of-25 passes against TCU 304 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also rushed three times for 39 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
He'll go down as a legend of the sport alongside the likes of Tim Tebow, Vince Young, Tommie Frazier, O.J. Simpson, Herschel Walker and others.
Not bad for a scrawny, unathletic-looking walk-on, right?
