Week 14 College Football Best Teaser

Week 14 of the college football season is all about the conference championships, and we've got two games we're eyeing on the teaser front. Neither game has College Football Playoff implications, but both are vital games for both teams.

The first leg of our teaser is Troy (-2.5) on the teaser against Coastal Carolina. This is somewhat of a risky bet because there's a chance Coastal Carolina's Grayson McCall could play this week, but that seems unlikely. The two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year suffered a leg injury back on Nov. 3 against Appalachian State, and hasn't played since. CC head coach Jamey Chadwell wasn't exactly optimistic McCall will play on Saturday, but he didn't rule him out either.

But we're going to assume McCall won't play, and after starting the season 9-1 with McCall under center, the Chanticleers are 1-1 without him, and are coming off a 47-7 loss to James Madison. Meanwhile Troy is 10-2 and has won nine straight. The Trojans haven't exactly coasted through the Sun Belt, but they've won their last two games by at least three scores.

If McCall was healthy, we'd take CC, but without him, they have pretty much no shot of coming away with a win. Three different Chanticleers quarterbacks failed to combine for 100 passing yards last week, and a one-dimensional offense won't work against Troy. That's why Troy by at least a field goal via the teaser is a steal.

As for the second leg of our teaser, take Fresno State (+9) thanks to the teaser. We'd be a whole lot more confident if the teaser got us to 10 or 11 points, but nine is still a solid number. The Bulldogs have won seven straight, and have looked a whole better offensively — especially through the air — since quarterback Jake Haener returned from injury. Plus, Boise State has had its issues on offense this season, even after making a midseason change at offensive coordinator, and the Bulldogs defense is coming off its best performance of the season after shutting out Wyoming last week.

Don't be surprised if either team fails to score 30 points, which increases the odds of this game being much closer than some may expect. Yes, we know BSU beat FSU by three scores back in October, but that was without Haener. That matchup means very little, and to be honest, don't be surprised if FSU wins outright. That's why FSU (+9) on the teaser is just too good to pass up.

The Teaser: Troy (-8.5) to (-2.5) AND Fresno State (+3) to (+9) (-107 odds via Barstool)
