Week 2 best college football teaser

On Tuesday we talked about our best NFL teaser for this week, and today it's time to talk about our best college football teaser for this week.

In case you're not familiar with a teaser bet, click here for a detailed explanation. A standard teaser alters the selected value by six points, which is what we're going to do here. Some sportsbooks will let you alter the value by as much as 10, but we're going to stick with the most common value of six. Football teasers usually only allow you to alter the spread or the total points, and for this teaser, we're going to do the spread for both.

In order to place a teaser, you must make a minimum of two selections, and most sportsbooks will limit you to a maximum of 10 or 12. For this teaser, we're going to stick with the minimum of two.

Just like a parlay, the more legs you include, the higher the odds get. However, just like a parlay, if one of your legs loses, your entire bet loses.

Our first leg is Tennessee against Pittsburgh. The Volunteers are favored by six, so all you need them to do is just win to cover this leg. And that shouldn't be an issue against the Panthers.

I know Pitt put up 38 points last week in its win against West Virginia, but the go-ahead touchdown was on a pick-6 that went right through the receiver's hands. And prior to that pick, West Virginia was moving the ball with ease.

The Panthers' offense could do some damage against Tennessee, but the Volunteers can flat-out score. Dating back to last season, Tennessee has scored 40+ points in five of its last six games. And quarterback Hendon Hooker and the entire rushing attack looked really good in last week's 59-10 win over Ball State.

The ACC is nowhere near the caliber of the SEC, and that alone, should have you convinced Tennessee wins this game. It might take the Volunteers a little bit to pull away, but take Tennessee. They're the better team.

Our final leg is USC over Stanford by at least two. Remember, you don't need the Trojans to win by eight, the teaser brings it down to two. I know it's a rivalry game, but still USC has so much more talent. Especially once Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma for Southern California, he couldn't help himself and bring a ton with him — most notably quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Jordan Addison.

USC dominated last week in its 66-14 win over Rice last week, and while I don't expect another blowout quite to that extent, expect the Trojans to win by at least two scores. Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison had that immediate connection and the Trojans had three defensive scores.

The bet: USC from (-8) to (-2) and Tennessee from (-6) to (0) (+103 odds via Barstool)

Bet $100 to win $103
