It is time for Alabama football to turn all of its focus to its 2025 recruiting class after securing another solid class during the 2024 cycle.

Kalen DeBoer will get his first shot at recruiting a full class as the Tide’s head coach during this cycle, and his first class is off to a solid start with commitments from Myles Johnson and Anthony Rogers. Both are four-star recruits and natives of the state of Alabama. Their ranking as a class is understandably low at the moment across multiple recruiting sites with them losing several 2025 commits after Nick Saban announced his retirement.

Rogers is the Tide’s highest-rated commit at the moment with him pushing to be the No.1 running back in the country. The explosive back has been a productive back throughout his high school career despite transferring from Pike Road High School to IMG Academy for his junior season. He has the speed needed to pull away from defenders, runs the ball with good balance and low to the ground and has experienced making plays as a receiver out of the backfield.

Johnson did not play his junior season for T.R. Miller, but he earned a committable offer from the Tide after working out in camp in front of Nick Saban last summer. The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is a physical run-stopper as a linebacker, who powers through blocks in pursuit of the football. He is also a punisher of ball carriers as they consistently fall backward after he makes contact.

DeBoer and Alabama’s staff are looking to lock in some 2025 talent at multiple positions on both sides of the ball moving forward. This is the very early stages of this cycle, so there are still a lot of evaluations to be done and relationships to be built.
