The Wisconsin Badgers were unable to pull off a win against the LSU Tigers in the RequiaQuest Bowl to end the season. It was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise good all-around season. There is plenty of room to grow, but there are also plenty of reasons for optimism about the future.

Luke Fickell and company are looking to put together a more competitive roster for the 2024 season. A lot of that plan will depend on their incoming recruiting class, but the Badgers are also active in the transfer portal.

Unfortunately, they are also losing a piece to the transfer portal.

Wisconsin Badgers Lose Former Five Star Offensive Lineman To Transfer Portal

According to a report from Evan Flood of 247 Sports, the Badgers are losing offensive lineman Nolan Rucci to the transfer portal.

While he was one of the highest-ranked recruits that the Badgers have ever been able to secure, his career did not go as planned. Rucci only played in six games throughout his tenure.

Rucci was never able to work his way into the lineup and has clearly decided to find an opportunity elsewhere. Hopefully, he’ll be able to find a destination that can unlock his full potential.

He is the younger brother of Wisconsin Badgers’ tight end Hayden Rucci. Hayden Rucci just finished up his senior season, which also could have played a factor in his younger brother deciding to leave now.

We wish Rucci the best of luck in his next endeavor. While it’s a disappointing end to what appeared very promising to begin with, the Badgers should be just fine on the offensive line in 2024 without him.
