The Wisconsin Badgers were able to walk away with a victory over Purdue on Friday evening, but it wasn’t all positive. During the 4th quarter, their top running back, Chez Mellusi, went down after being tackled and a Purdue defender landed on his leg. The Senior grabbed his left leg in pain, and he was carted off the field.
Losing Chez Mellusi a Big Blow for the Wisconsin Badgers
Mellusi came over the Wisconsin Badgers after spending two seasons with Clemson. He had suffered other leg injuries and was hoping for a fresh start this season, and he was making good on that promise. In his 3 games for the Badgers this season he’s put up 267 yards with 4 touchdowns and was part of the dynamic duo in the back field for the Wisconsin Badgers along with Braelon Allen.
Luke Fickell stated just what Chez Mellusi means to the Badgers on the field: “They’re hurting in there. If we lose him for a while, it will be tough. He’s not just a great football player for us, he’s not just a great tailback. He’s been a heart and soul of what we do, because of what he’s gone through, and some of those ups and downs, and the injuries. To have the attitude that he has, he’s a big part.”
