David Schwimmer reveals when the 'Friends' reunion special will finally film
If Joey Tribbiani could somehow ask "How you doin'?" in this moment, I'd say, "Much better now that I know when you'll be filming the Friends reunion."
David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller, relayed the news Friends fans have been waiting for during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show: "After this, I'm going to Los Angeles. We're gonna be shooting the Friends reunion next week, so I'm hopping on a plane this evening. And yeah, gonna see everyone next week for the first time in many years."
This development is very exciting, considering how many production delays there have been.
Friends ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 and centered around a tight-knit group of twentysomethings—Ross, Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow)—navigating life in New York City. By the end, Ross and Rachel had finally found their happily ever after, while Monica and Chandler were married with adopted twins, and Phoebe married Mike (Paul Rudd).
David Crane and Marta Kauffman's creation left Netflix in January 2020 and landed at HBO Max by May. The reunion special was announced in February:
