Kanye West announces 'Donda 2' album is coming next month
Will Donda 2 really come out on Feb. 22, 2022?
That is anyone's guess.
But as of now, that is the release date that Kanye West — legally known as Ye — has set for his sequel Donda album:
The 22-time Grammy winner revealed that Future will serve as the executive producer on the album.
Donda finally dropped Aug. 29, 2021, after it was previously expected July 23 and Aug. 7. West had initially begun teasing Donda, named after his mother who died in 2017, during summer 2020.
The 27-track project immediately made a mark, becoming Spotify's most-streamed album in 24 hours for 2021 at the time (h/t Variety). Donda is also up for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album at the forthcoming 64th Grammy Awards on April 3.
Donda 2 will be West's 11th studio album overall and the first album acting as an official sequel.
