Lady Gaga's 2008 'The Fame' Album Hits No. 1 Again

When Lady Gaga titled her debut studio album The Fame, she had no idea just how famous she would become. There's definitely no way she thought that the album could hit No. 1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart nearly 13 years removed from its August 2008 release, but here it is:

Gaga's evergreen influence is reflected in her simultaneous success across the charts, as her most recent album Chromatica occupies No. 2 on the same chart:

Chromatica was released May 29, 2020, and the stacked track list included "Rain On Me" featuring Ariana Grande. The pop smash peaked at No. 21 on Billboard's coveted Hot 100 last September and spent 23 weeks on the chart. Gaga has grown accustomed to charting since The Fame, which catapulted her to mainstream success with hits such as "Just Dance," "Paparazzi" and "Poker Face."

The 34-year-old icon has earned 11 Grammy Awards, and she is up for two more this year— best pop duo/group performance ("Rain On Me") and best pop vocal album (Chromatica)—to go along with her 2019 Academy Awards nomination for best actress (A Star is Born) and victory for best original song ("Shallow"). Gaga's A Star is Born portrayal of Ally—opposite Bradley Cooper's Jackson Maine—made her a record-breaking awards darling.

More recently, Gaga performed the national anthem at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in late January:

It was also reported by Deadline's Justin Kroll last week that Gaga will star alongside Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock in David Leitch's forthcoming action film Bullet Train. As she sang in The Fame's title track, she has a taste for endless fortune.
