Martha Stewart's probation officer wouldn't let her host Saturday Night Live
Martha Stewart has masterfully reformed her public image since serving her "horrifying" 2004 five-month maximum-security federal prison sentence in West Virginia for obstruction of justice related to a 2001 ImClone Stock sale. That was followed by two years of probation. While the 79-year-old has moved on, she does have one regret from that time.
"My only big regret that I can talk about is that Saturday Night Live asked me to host," Stewart told Jada Yuan for Harper's Bazaar's March issue, published Tuesday. "My probation officer wouldn’t give me the time. That really pxxxed me off, because I would have loved to have hosted Saturday Night Live. I’d like that on my résumé.
Hosting SNL would have undoubtedly been a notable accomplishment, but Stewart's resume is still stacked. Her Martha Stewart Living brand shot her to mainstream fame, as she wrote book after book and successfully became America's face for homemaking. Stewart gave her persona an new edge when she teamed up with hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg to co-host VH1 reality series Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party:
The show was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2017, and it was rebranded to Martha & Snoop's Potluck Party Challenge for Season 3.
