Taylor Swift surprises fans with rerecorded 'Wildest Dreams' after TikTok trend

TikTok is currency, and getting "Wildest Dreams" trending on the platform paid off big-time for Swifties on Friday:

Swift has been rerecording the first six albums in her catalog as a way to reclaim her masters that were controversially sold. The country-turned-pop megawatt star released Fearless (Taylor's Version) in April as the first of her completely rerecorded projects, which included six never-before-heard "From the Vault" tracks, and the album became her ninth No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Fearless originally dropped in 2008 as her sophomore studio album and claimed Album of the Year as well as Best Country Album at the Grammys.

In June, Swift revealed that 2012's Red was getting the rerecorded treatment next:

Fans had been begging for 2014's Grammy-winning 1989 instead, but they'll have to settle for "Wildest Dreams," the album's seventh track.
