Zooey Deschanel talks 'Property Brothers' boyfriend Jonathan Scott: 'I'm always excited to see him'
Zooey Deschanel met Jonathan Scott while filming this episode of Carpool Karaoke, and she apparently knew right away which Property Brother she liked the most.
While Zooming into LIVE with Kelly and Ryan on Friday morning, Ryan Seacrest asked if the New Girl actress had "instant chemistry" with Scott, who she has been dating since late 2019.
"Yes," the 41-year-old gushed. "Yeah, definitely. Definitely. We just get along so well. We still—like, I mean, I'm always excited to see him."
Earlier in the interview, Deschanel detailed how she tells Scott apart from his twin brother Drew.
"Jonathan doesn't have a beard, and Drew has a beard," she advised. "I honestly don't think they look that much alike, but everyone else thinks they look just [alike]. I remember when we first met them, my sister's like, 'They're identical! I can't—how do you tell them apart?' I'm like, they look so different."
Property Brothers skyrocketed the Scott brothers to fame and has grown into a sprawling HGTV empire since its January 2011 debut.
At that time, Deschanel was married to Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard. They finalized their divorce in December 2012. She remarried to producer Jacob Pechenik in 2015, and they divorced in 2020 after initially separating in January 2019. She shares two children, Elsie and Charlie, with Pechenik.
Scott was previously married but kept the details of how the marriage went south under wraps until he shared some details in his and Drew's It Takes Two: Our Story memoir (h/t Country Living).
