The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to assemble a strong 2024 NFL Draft class that they hope will be part of a long-term winning core.

The Raiders hold the No. 13 overall selection in the draft and could go in several different directions with that pick. They were just outside the postseason picture in 2023 and want to break through to the playoffs in 2024.

After an impressive interim stint, the team promoted Antonio Pierce to head coach, a move widely beloved by fans and players. The Raiders are now set up to have a bounce-back season in 2024.

The NFL Scouting Combine is underway in Indianapolis, Ind., as draft hopefuls speak to the media, run drills, and meet with teams.

One of those players is Alabama linebacker Chris Braswell. Braswell has met with the Raiders and spoke about his experience with Pierce.

“It was great,” he told me. “He’s definitely a team guy, more player-related. He can relate to them as a player and everything like that, so I thought it was great to meet him.”

If the Raiders select Braswell, he will join a crop of talented defensive linemen, including Maxx Crosby, Malcolm Koonce, and Tyree Wilson. Braswell would enjoy an opportunity to join another talented defensive line similar to the one he had with the Crimson Tide.

“It would be great to go out there and play with guys like Maxx and all those guys,” he said. “They’re all great pass rushers, great D-Line, great D-Line coach, great system, great program.”

The draft process can be challenging for some players, but Braswell is not going through it alone. He has several other Crimson Tide players with him, including defensive end Dallas Turner, who is rooming with him. Braswell spoke about sharing the experience with his teammates.

“It’s great to have other teammates from ‘Bama out here,” he said. “I know a lot of people who don’t play for ‘Bama as well here, so that was kind of good, meeting new guys at the Senior Bowl, so coming here seeing a lot of familiar faces. It’s always good to have somebody that you’ve been with for four years or whatever, three years. Obviously, here don’t have to struggle to find a roommate; Dallas is my roommate, so it’s kind of like how it was on gamedays.”
