Lil'Jordan Humphrey might have whiplash with how much the Denver Broncos have moved him on and off the roster. On Friday, the Broncos released Humphrey, just a couple of days removed from re-signing him, to make way for rookie nose tackle Keondre Coburn, whom the team was awarded off waivers.

Coburn was a Kansas City Chiefs' sixth-round pick out of Texas this year. He played in Week 1, logging a tackle for a loss. After riding the bench ever since, the Chiefs waived him on Thursday.

The 6-foot-2, 332-pound Coburn had a productive career at Texas, totaling 96 tackles (56 solo), 5.5 sacks, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and a blocked kick. He joins a defensive line room in Denver that is very thin depth-wise, and that girth will be put to use to help Vance Joseph's woeful run defense, which ranks dead last in the NFL.

It won't be surprising to see Humphrey re-signed, even if it's to the practice squad. As a long-time Sean Payton favorite, he'll likely always have a place in Denver as the last one or two guys on the roster.

As for Coburn, don't expect to see him this weekend vs. the Green Bay Packers. Then again, stranger things have happened and the Broncos need all the help they can get to overcome the worst start to a season in franchise history.
