Following the conclusion of conference championship weekend, the College Football Playoff committee released their final set of rankings for the year.
For G5 fans, the critical question was which team would get the bid to the New Years Six following Tulane's loss in the AAC Championship.
The answer is the undefeated Conference USA Champion #23 Liberty Flames.

Liberty will play the #8 Oregon Ducks out of the Pac-12 in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl on January 1 at 1 PM ET on ESPN.
SMU was also in contention for the spot after beating Tulane, but were slotted one spot behind the Flames at #24.

Liberty defeated New Mexico State 49-35 in Lynchburg on Friday night to move their overall record to 13-0. It's Liberty's ninth overall conference title and their first as an FBS team.
It was also Liberty's first season in CUSA. This is the first season that Liberty has been ranked in the CFP's Top 25.
As the top rated Group of Five conference champion, Liberty would make the College Football Playoff under the expanded 12-team format that will being in 2024.
