For Sebastian Vidmar, hockey was a sport that he was thrown into at a young age, and he has certainly had his number of stops since making the jump to the ECHL after four years at Union College, where he put up 40 goals and 63 assists for 103 points in 137 games. Vidmar would play one game with the Stockton Heat of the AHL to finish off the 2018-19 season after finishing up his collegiate career. In 2019, Vidmar signed with the Norfolk Admirals, where he would put up seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 42 games. The following year would be the COVID year as Vidmar headed back home to Sweden, where he spent the 2020-21 season and the beginning of the 2021-22 season before joining the Adirondack Thunder in November 2021.

Vidmar had a solid first season with the Thunder, putting up 22 goals and 21 assists in just 43 games with the club; he would finish the year tied for second in goals and third in assists, which would be enough for him to return to Adirondack the following season. Injuries would hurt Vidmar in 2022-23, limiting him to only 47 games with the Thunder, where he’d put up 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points, along with four assists in five Kelly Cup Playoff games with Adirondack. However, that would be Vidmar’s final year in Adirondack he would finish with 37 goals and 42 assists for 79 points in 106 games with the Thunder throughout two seasons with Adirondack.
The 2023-24 season would see Sebastian Vidmar and Alex Loh reunite as Loh would join the Savannah Ghost Pirates as an assistant coach for their inaugural season in 2022-23, and Vidmar would end up signing with the ECHL’s newest team. Vidmar would play in 50 games with the Ghost Pirates, putting up eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points, as well as being a part of the 2024 ECHL All-Star Game. The Swedish forward would pick up two goals in the game and win the Fastest Skater Competition. His time in Savannah would come to an end as he was part of a deadline day deal that sent him back to the North Division as he would be joining the Maine Mariners.

It would be a change of scenery that would help Vidmar find his game. He would score three goals and five assists for eight points in 12 games with the Mariners, seven of which came in his final six games before his season ended early due to a hand injury. Vidmar and the Mariners would sneak into the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a win on the final day of the regular season over the Adirondack Thunder, but the Mariners would end up losing to Adirondack in seven games during the opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

After five seasons of pro hockey, including four seasons in the ECHL, where he’s scored 55 goals and 78 assists for 210 points, and a little over a year in Sweden, where he put up five goals and four assists for nine points with Trelleborgs IF before going to HockeyEttan where he played 36 games with Vimmerby putting up 12 goals, and 13 assists in 25 points. Vidmar has enjoyed the ride so far. As the ECHL offseason approaches, it will be interesting to see where Vidmar lands for next season or if he decides to head back home.
