The No. 1 Minnesota high school prospect in the 2023 class is leaving LSU after just one season.
Jaxon Howard, a former four-star recruit out of Robbinsdale Cooper, has entered the transfer portal after his redshirt freshman season at LSU. During his only season in Baton Rouge, Howard played in five games, mostly on special teams.
Before committing to LSU, the edge rusher also considered offers from the Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines and his hometown Minnesota Gophers.
Howard was the 18th ranked edge rusher and the 131st overall recruit in the nation in 2023, according to 247sports. He is the son of former Vikings defensive lineman Willie Howard, who was his coach at Cooper High School in the Twin Cities.
