The Houston Texans had some offensive line issues last season. However, I wouldn't say they need to make changes upfront. They just dealt with a lot of very unfortunate injuries, and they are confident that when the unit is fully healthy, they will be one of the best in the league. And, with the money they have spent, that could very well be true.

The depth is a bit questionable, though, and I could see the Texans being aggressive in that department. It also wouldn't hurt to have another startable guard. Based on one of their latest reports, it would appear that's what they are targeting.

According to Patrick Storm of Texans Wire, the Texans have a top-30 visit with Boston College offensive guard Christian Mahogany, who feels like one of the more slept-on prospects in the draft.

By A to Z Sports' Big Board, Mahogany is the 94th overall prospect and the ninth overall guard in the draft. He played at Boston College last season and didn't allow a single sack last season. Here are some of his strengths and weaknesses:

STRENGTHS

  • Massive, wide frame
  • Explosive getting downfield as a puller
  • Violent & powerful drive blocker. Consistently moves DL 5+ yards off the LOS
  • Heavy hands & relentless leg-drive to clear out rushing lanes
  • Replaces punch & re-fits his hands throughout the rep
  • Good target location in an open space
  • Can slide his feet & stay in front of secondary moves

WEAKNESSES

  • Limited zone blocking range. Struggles to win difficult backside cutoffs
  • Tentative/soft punch gives rushers early control
  • Late reactions & inconsistent depth vs. stunts
  • Struggles to mirror quick movement across gaps
  • Didn't have many true pass sets in Boston College's run/play action heavy scheme
  • Missed all of 2022 with an injury
  • Launches himself into block attempts & doesn't always sustain
