The Miami Dolphins have not been shy about aggressively pursuing running backs they're fond of.  That was the case last year when they traded into the fourth round to take Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright.

However, given the ridiculously deep RB pool in this year's class, they might not have to make any moves to be in position to snag a productive ballcarrier.  In fact, one of the best in college football in 2023 could fall right in position for them.

Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II had a terrific year two seasons ago.  He led all of FBS college football with 1732 rushing yards and total plays with 324.  He also led the Big 12 with 21 rushing touchdowns and 22 total scores.  The performance earned him AP first-team All-American honors and saw him finish seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting. The Cowboys made it to the Big 12 championship game, won 10 games, and knocked off Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.

2024 was a substantial step back for OSU and Gordon.  The Cowboys fell to a disastrous 3-9 record, and Gordon's rushing total was almost cut in half at 880.

However, despite Oklahoma State's massive struggles as an offense, Gordon didn't forget how to play ball, and he's proven when he's got talent around him, he's a terrific player.

Miami reportedly had a meeting with Gordon at the Combine, per The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler, so the interest appears to be there on Miami's end.

He also fits to a T what Miami needs in their running back room, at least physically: an imposing back who can run players over.  Gordon has the build at 6'1", 225 pounds to dole out contact and punish would-be tacklers.

The Dolphins have two picks in both the fourth and fifth rounds, so that could be a possible landing spot if Miami decides to pull the trigger on him.  As we saw last year, Miami is certainly not shy about taking a running back in the fourth round.
