Sean Strickland appears to be planning a trip to Japan, tweeting out a wish list of things to do when abroad. One of those was to find a sumo wrestler and go up against them. Not an easy task but being a former Middleweight Champion in the UFC, maybe it would translate.
A fan replied saying Strickland would not fare any better than Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons against a sumo wrestler, something he did recently in Japan. Strickland was not too happy with the thought, saying he would beat Parsons and then some.
“Where is this?? Bro idk who Micah Parsons is but I’d take that man’s soul and feed it to that sumo wrestler then suplex the sumo wrestler,” Strickland said via X. “Where is this?!?!”
Parsons responded on Twitter, telling Strickland he can give it a try if he’d like. Also told the MMA star if he was going to mess around, he would find out.
Now, usually, NFL starting left tackles are on the other end of Parsons. But he did recently go up against the sumo wrestlers and had mixed results.
Two reps took place and unsurprisingly, Parsons went down in the first one. He then promised to “hit legs every day” after getting thrown out of the circle. Stroud even showed the wrestler a celebration, rocking the baby right in front of Parsons.
But with how competitive Parsons is, he went out there and won on the second occasion, and was quite happy with himself. After a little celebration, the Dallas Cowboys star hit the ‘Too small’ taunt as the room erupted with laughter.

Parsons does have an appreciation for wrestling, dating back to his high school days. Despite being a five-star linebacker prospect, he still wrestled at Harrisburg High School. When he arrived in State College, Parsons supported the Penn State program. Even now, you see the Dallas Cowboys star tweeting about them.
If/when Strickland does get over to Japan, he will have the opportunity to face off against a sumo wrestler himself. And then, we can compare his results against Parsons to see where the two match up with one another.
While it’s unlikely the event ever happens, never say never. Both Strickland and Parsons love to talk a little bit and may want to put their money where their mouth is.
