Nebraska football landed the big fish on Monday night. The program landed 2024 five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola. Raiola is the top quarterback in the country, and this commitment ends a long pursuit of his recruitment. He made the announcement on X

Raiola is the second overall quarterback in the 2024 class, and the top player in his class from the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the sixth overall player nationally in the 2024 class. He had offers from several big-name schools, and was originally committed to Georgia. He did so on May 15.

Nevertheless, Nebraska kept up with their pursuit of the quarterback. He was recruited to the program by offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.

The quarterback had a productive high school career, throwing for 8,442 yards, 88 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He made sure to continue his strong play for his senior season at Buford this fall. He threw for 2,666 yards and 34 touchdowns in addition to only one interception.

A monumental day for Nebraska football

This is a monumental recruiting win for Nebraska and has the potential to be a staple recruit for Matt Rhule. Raiola is the highest-rated recruit in Nebraska football history.

He will be able to bring a bona fide pocket-passing presence to Nebraska football. He can make all the tough throws, including ones off his back foot and throws deep as well. The quarterback has tremendous accuracy on his passes, and does a good job of leading his receivers and putting balls in places where they can catch it.

He will fit the Nebraska football offense nicely, as they have talented on the roster as well as some coming in the 2024 class. This play style fits exactly what Nebraska football wants to run with their offense.

This commitment from Raiola gives the Huskers a loaded quarterback room. Daniel Kaelin was an Elite 11 finalist alongside Raiola. Now, Nebraska football can have a plan in the quarterback room for the first time in quite a while.

This commitment now puts the Nebraska football recruiting 22nd overall per the On3 Team Rankings.

Furthermore, this is a signature day for Rhule and the program. The coaching staff has   been wanting to get high-caliber players for quite a while and landing a prospect like Raiola certainly fits the bill. The 2024 recruiting class has a chance to be a signature one for the program, and Raiola’s commitment is proof of it.
