The Philadelphia Eagles made a surprising signing when they brought in wide receiver Julio Jones . While his best days are clearly behind him, Jones thinks he can be an asset to the team that already boasts AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. In an interview this week, Jones expressed confidence in his playing ability.

Philadelphia Eagles Julio Jones Ready To Play

Jones is ready to be a part of a team that has a legitimate shot at winning a Super Bowl.

“My mindset is definitely to dominate. Don’t get it twisted. I’m here to dominate. But I’m saying guys are already here, they’re solidified in their positions. Wherever they need me to go and be, I’m going to do that at the best of my ability.”

He recognizes that he is no longer the top dog on the team but that does not mean he cannot make a difference. Even late in his career, he has shown an ability to make big plays when needed. The issue for Jones is his health.

Can Jones Stay Healthy?

For the last five years, injuries have been what has plagued Jones. While his production has been solid, it has been stunted by various injuries. This is the real question for his time in Philadelphia. If he can stay on the field and be a solid WR3 the Eagles’ passing attack could be devastating. More than likely, he plays well for a week or two and then gets a nagging injury that keeps him out or limited for the entire season. For the Eagles, it is a low-risk high-reward signing. If it works, they get a star for cheap. If not they can cut bait easily.

Julio Jones has been one of the most fun receivers to watch in the NFL. Hopefully, we get to see that receiver one last time when he takes the field for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.
