The No. 6 University of Louisville Cardinals volleyball team has announced a major addition to their recruiting class for 2024. Samantha Untiedt, a talented libero from Okabena, Minn., is set to join the team and make a significant impact.

Associate head coach Dan Meske spoke highly of Untiedt, praising her competitiveness and vibrant personality. He believes she will be a fan favorite due to her exceptional skills on the court. Not only is she an elite backrow player, but she also has the ability to set, making her a versatile asset to the team.

Untiedt brings an impressive resume with her to Louisville. She played for Heron Lake-Okabena High School under the guidance of head coach Jason Fisher. Additionally, she played club volleyball for Kairos 18 Alpha, coached by Mitch Lunning and Jax Steffel.

Her accomplishments are numerous. In 2023, she was named to the AAU National All-American team as well as being named her club’s MVP in 2021. USA Volleyball recognized her talents by naming her to their All-Tournament Team in 2023. At the high school level, Untiedt was a three-time All-Red Rock Conference selection and a three-time All-Area First Worthington Globe Team selection. She was also named to the Minnesota All-State Team and the All-State Academic Team in Class A in 2023.

In addition, she has received recognition from Breakdown, being named to their All-Breakdown Team in both 2022 and 2023. She was also highlighted as their Featured Player of 2022 in the Minn. High School Volleyball Guidebook. During her sophomore year, she earned the title of Beck’s Player with Heart and was added to the Ultra Ankle Watchlist. Untiedt has also competed as part of Team Minn. in the Midwest Border Battle and participated in the Under Armour Next Camp Series.

With such an impressive track record, it is clear that Untiedt is a talented player who will make a significant impact on the University of Louisville Cardinals volleyball team. Fans can look forward to seeing her skills on full display as she contributes to the team in various ways.
