Seattle Mariners' reliever Tayler Saucedo threw some shade at the Houston Astros this week on social media.

Let's set the stage:

1) In Game 5 of the ALCS on Friday night, Astros pitcher Bryan Abreu was ejected for intentionally throwing at Texas Rangers' star Adolis Garcia. This caused the benches to empty and Abreu has been suspended for the duration of the series. Garcia had previously hit a three-run home run in the game off Justin Verlander, which likely prompted the beaning. The Astros maintain it wasn't intentional, but the umpires and Major League Baseball disagreed.

2) As that was happening on the field, Saucedo sent a post out on "X" which said:

"But they are tired of being thrown at I thought," with a confused emoji.

That's a reference to the Mariners and Astros rivalry. Back at the end of September, after two Astros players were plunked by Mariners pitching, Astros manger Dusty Baker said he was tired of his guys getting hit. However, the record shows that in the rivalry, the Astros have hit far more batters than the Mariners have.

You can read about that story here.

Saucedo is calling out the irony of the whole thing.

While Mariners fans and Astros haters are likely to rejoice at the comments, the fact remains that the Astros won the American League West again, and the Mariners failed to make the playoffs.

Seattle missed them by 1.0 game and now enters a hugely important offseason.

The Astros take on the Rangers in Game 6 of the ALCS on Sunday night.
