Terance Mann told NBA reporters that he doesn’t expect to sign an extension with the Los Angeles Clippers. Mann will make $10.6 million this season and $11.4 million in 2024-25. The guard will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2025.

The Clippers named Mann their fifth starter, so the team will start Russell Westbrook, Mann, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac this season. Los Angeles will not trade Mann to the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden, who has requested a trade from the Sixers to the Clippers.

Mann appeared in 81 games for the Clippers last season. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 51.9% from the floor, 38.9% from beyond the arc and 78.0% from the free-throw line.

The Clippers won 44 games last season but lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in five games. Leonard only played in Games 1 and 2 of the Suns series before tearing his meniscus, while George missed the entire series with his own knee injury.

Mann, 27, has career averages of 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists with the Clippers. The New York native was the 48th overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Florida State.

Some people around the NBA believe the Clippers are making a mistake by not trading Mann for Harden, who led the NBA in assists per game last season. Leonard, George and Westbrook want the Clippers’ front office to acquire Harden, sources told NBA Analysis Network. Los Angeles wants to acquire Harden while keeping Mann.
