As transfer window gets set to open, Celtic will be linked with numerous footballers who Ange Postecoglou might be looking at as a prospective signing. We all know that the team and general squad depth need reinforcing. Just this weekend we were linked with a triple threat from the J-League in Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, and Yosuke Ideguchi to help rebuild this Celtic side.

Another story that has broken amongst the spate of stories from Japan has been the link with Borussia Monchengladbach attacking midfielder, Hannes Wolf. Celtic fans might know Wolf from his time with RB Salzburg when we played them in the Europa League a few seasons back under Brendan Rodgers.

The young player recently moved from Salzburg to Mochengladbach for a fee believed to be around £8 million but has struggled for game time under Adi Hutter in the Bundesliga.

BILD now report that the player could go out on loan with a number of clubs vying for the Austrian’s signature. It is said that any deal will only be temporary as they want to see how Wolf develops in the long term.

The player is young and hungry and could fit the Ange Postecoglou style. However, it is not known whether or not a short term loan deal would interest Celtic. Who knows though? Perhaps we could use Wolf to help win the title and reach those riches of the Champions League. Maybe that would be short termism working for us for a change.

The January transfer window promises to be interesting no matter what. Ange has still to finish the moulding of this team and it could take another two or maybe three transfer windows to complete the process. All the while, we patiently wait and enjoy the revolution unfolding in front of our eyes.
