The 2024 NFL draft is next week. So in this final week ahead of time, I want to go over some of my top players for the Lions in this draft and make the case as to why they're the perfect fit for the Lions. We'll be covering North Carolina State center Dylan McMahon in this one. Here's who we've covered so far:

Kool-Aid McKinstry
Terrion Arnold
Xavier Legette
Troy Franklin

The Draw

The draw is the versatility. McMahon started at left guard, right guard and center at North Carolina State. It's a similar situation to current Lion Graham Glasgow, who has moved all over the interior of the Lions offensive line and hasn't missed a beat anywhere.

McMahon gives you options off the bench. He can come in and spot start at a certain area without forcing the Lions to have to shuffle around their entire offensive line like they did last year.

Plus he's solid for the future of the Lions offense line. He could move into the right guard spot once Kevin Zeitler moves on or he could play center if Frank Ragnow retires early. The best part is that he's getting time under these players to learn and get ready to be a starter when the day comes.

The Drawback

When you start at three different positions in three years, there's a bit of a concern that you haven't really had the time to grow into any of them. McMahon did play well, but he kept getting moved so much that you have to wonder if that affects him.

He's undersized in both body size and arm length and that's presenting a concern for teams.

Where can the Lions get him?

McMahon is currently slated to go in the late fifth or early sixth round. I don't see that changing in terms of him moving up the board due to his size. I think teams are just a little too worried about that in my opinion. He's showed that he can play.
