Is Rory McIlroy the favorite to win the Genesis Scottish Open?

Stars from the PGA and DP World Tours will collide when the Genesis Scottish Open tees off at the Renaissance Club on Thursday. The co-sanctioned event takes place at the busiest point of the golf season, and it also serves as the final tuneup ahead of The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

While all the biggest names in the game will be under the spotlight this weekend, Rory McIlroy is sure to get the lion's share of the attention. The Irishman's season is on an upswing after a disappointing month of April, but he is still looking for his first win in 2023. After being the runner-up at the U.S. Open, the pressure is building for McIlroy to finally top the leaderboard and he seems more determined than ever to get there.

But do oddsmakers think McIlroy will be victorious at the Genesis Scottish Open this weekend? Or is there another favorite you should be aware of?

McIlroy is indeed one of the favorites ahead of the Genesis Scottish Open and is listed at 15-2 odds at DraftKings to win the event. He has competition from world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, however, who is the overall favorite to top the leaderboard at 13-2 odds. Patrick Cantlay and defending Scottish Open champ Xander Schauffele round out the favorites at 12-1 and 14-1 respectively.

Other notable competitors over the weekend include Rickie Fowler, who is listed at 18-1 a couple of weeks after his massive victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Wyndham Clark, who rallied to beat Fowler at the U.S. Open, is a 35-1 long shot ahead of the Scottish Open.

The Genesis Scottish Open tees off on Thursday at 4:15 AM East Coast time.
