Jon Rahm issued a statement on Saturday regarding his COVID-19 situation.

Rahm was informed after his round at the Memorial Tournament that he had tested positive for COVID-19. Rahm tested positive both after his second round on Friday and before his third round on Saturday. He received the news upon completing his third round and was devastated.

Rahm acknowledged in his statement how disappointed he was. He also said that how he responds will define him.

“I’m very disappointed in having to withdraw from Memorial Tournament. This is one of those things that happen in life, one of those moments where how we respond to a setback defines us as people. I’m very thankful that my family and I are OK.

“Thank you to all of the fans for their support and I’m looking forward to watching the showdown tomorrow afternoon with you all,” Rahm wrote.

Rahm will be in isolation through June 15. He is currently asymptomatic.

The 26-year-old golfer was 18-under for the tournament and leading the field by six strokes when he was forced to withdraw.
