LIV Golf, Phil Mickelson sued over team logo

Phil Mickelson is the face of yet another LIV Golf lawsuit. This time around, it's his apparel that is the focus of wrongdoing.

ESPN reported Monday that LIV Golf is being sued by Argentine corporation Cool Brands Supply, which oversees multiple apparel and lifestyle brands, including skate-focused brand Fallen. The federal lawsuit filed last Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey accuses LIV Golf and Mickelson's team, HyFlyers GC, of knocking off the logo Fallen has used for roughly 20 years.

Mickelson, 52, sported the double F emblazoned apparel at both the Masters and the PGA Championship this season.

"The similarities between the two marks, particularly when used on clothing, are striking, and are confusing consumers and causing damage to Plaintiff's senior mark and brand," Cool Brands Supply's attorneys wrote in their complaint, via ESPN. "Plaintiff previously demanded that Defendants cease use of their infringing logo, and they refused."

The six-time major winner was the poster child for PGA Tour golfers defecting to LIV Golf in 2022 and was one of 11 LIV Golf players who filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour last year. He dropped out of the lawsuit last September.

Mickelson is set to compete at the U.S. Open later this week at Los Angeles Country Club. DraftKings has him listed as a 150-1 long shot to win the event.
