Odds Rory McIlroy, other top golfers win Tour Championship

After a thrilling end to the BMW Championship, the stage is set for the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta.

The competition is narrowed down to 30 players set to compete in the final event of the PGA Tour season, which Rory McIlroy won last season after he passed Scottie Scheffler on the leaderboard as well as knocked him out of the No. 1 spot in the world. Do oddsmakers favor McIlroy to do it all over again?

DraftKings lists McIlroy at stunning +330 odds (roughly 10-3) to win the Tour Championship, but he isn't favored as heavily as Scheffler, who clocks in at 7-5 odds to beat McIlroy this time around. Viktor Hovland, fresh off of his win at the BMW Championship, is the next on the list at 5-1 odds. Jon Rahm rounds out the favorites at 8-1 to win the Tour Championship.

Last weekend's tournament ended in thrilling fashion as Hovland set a course record in the final round at Olympia Fields to leapfrog Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick and top the leaderboard. McIlroy hung on to finish in fourth while Ryder Cup hopefuls Max Homa and Brian Harman finished T5.

Homa is a 28-1 long shot to win at East Lake next weekend, while Harman is listed at 45-1. Jordan Spieth, who narrowly squeaked into position on Sunday to qualify for the Tour Championship, is listed at 180-1.

Tee times for the 2023 Tournament Championship have not yet been announced.
