PGA early odds: Can Tiger Woods make some noise at the PGA Championship?

Golf fans everywhere were disappointed on Sunday when Tiger Woods withdrew from the Masters despite making the cut over the weekend.

While there is a handful of PGA Tour events on deck — like the RBC Heritage, which tees off Thursday — the focus is already on the 2023 PGA Championship and Woods making his next start in a major. Unsurprisingly, sportsbooks have already revealed how they think he will perform after soreness in his surgically-repaired leg halted his quest for a sixth green jacket.

At DraftKings, the 47-year-old icon is a 65-1 long shot to top the leaderboard at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.  Despite winning four PGA Championships over his storied career, the 15-time major winner has a complicated relationship with Oak Hill and has never won an event there.

Woods withdrew from the PGA Championship in 2022 with an unspecified injury. However, fellow PGA Tour golfer and friend Jason Day revealed that Woods actually withdrew from last year's event because a screw in his surgically repaired leg was poking through his skin.

Between being forced to withdraw from last year's event and then having to make an early exit at the Masters last weekend, there is no doubt Woods is using the next month to get into the healthiest shape possible so he has a shot at finishing atop the leaderboard.

The PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club tees off on Thursday, May 18.
