Ryder Cup 2023: What are the odds Jordan Spieth makes Team USA?

The Ryder Cup standings got more interesting after the FedEx St. Jude Championship as players vying for one of the top-six spots in the Ryder Cup standings were shuffled around.

Event winner Lucas Glover has of course entered the chat, and Brooks Koepka remains the one LIV golfer with a chance at making this year's team.

But you can't talk about Ryder Cup hopefuls without mentioning Jordan Spieth, who followed up refraining from commenting on Phil Mickelson's gambling woes by finishing T6 at TPC Southwind.

Spieth currently sits just outside of the top-six in the Ryder Cup standings with 8,066.332 points and has just one event left to climb into position to automatically qualify for Team USA.

At this point, what are the odds that Spieth makes the U.S. Ryder Cup team?

While oddsmakers aren't listing odds for which players will make the team, Data Golf lists his chances of making the team at 79.7%.

This means Spieth has roughly a 1-4 chance of making the team whether that be from automatically qualifying or from being one of captain Zach Johnson's selections following the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Competing for Team USA in Rome this September would mark the fifth time Spieth has competed in the Ryder Cup. He represented the red, white and blue in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2021, and was on the winning side for two of those tours.

Spieth was a captain's pick in 2021 when Team USA won at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
