Former Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher Chris Devenski will remain with the Tampa Bay Rays.

According to ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan, Devenski has signed a one-year deal with the Rays and will stay put in Florida.

Devenski only spent half a season with the Halos at the beginning of 2023. As a Halo, he had a 3-2 record with a 5.08 ERA, 33 strikeouts, a 4.12 FIP, and a 1.18 WHIP in 29 games.

The Halos released him on August 29th, and the Rays quickly signed him on the same day.

The 33-year-old has bounced around from team to team after five seasons with the Houston Astros from 2016 to 2020. After his stint with Houston, he went to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Philadelhpia Phillies, the Angels, and now the Tampa Bay Rays, where he will be for the 2023 season.

If Devenski can pitch like he did after joining Tampa Bay at the end of next season — he had a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings — he'll turn out to be a solid addition for the Rays.
